چکیده

Introduction Left ventricular (LV) remodeling following myocardial infarction (MI) is the result of complex interactions between various factors, including presence or absence of early revascularization. Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging with contrast-enhancement (CE) permits assessment of myocardial tissue and LV dimensions and function, but the impact of early revascularization on the relationship between infarct tissue characteristics and LV remodeling has not yet been investigated.

Relationship between infarct tissue characteristics and left ventricular remodeling in patients with versus without early revascularization for acute myocardial infarction as assessed with contrast-enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.

Left ventricular (LV) remodeling following myocardial infarction (MI) is the result of complex interactions between various factors, including presence or absence of early revascularization. The impact of early revascularization on the relationship between infarct tissue characteristics and LV remodeling is incompletely known. Therefore, we investigated in patients with versus without successfu...

Myocardial BOLD imaging at 3 T using quantitative T2: application in a myocardial infarct model.

Left ventricular remodeling as a result of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is associated with significant morbidity, leading to cardiovascular dysfunction, disability, and death. Despite successful revascularization, coronary vasodilatory dysfunction has been shown in infarcted and remote myocardium of patients following AMI. Our study explored the utility of a T(2)-based blood-oxygen-level-d...

[Effect of persistent microvascular obstruction on post-infarction ventricular remodeling following intracoronary bone-marrow cell transplantation: a contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance study].

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Late contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) enables areas of persistent microvascular obstruction (PMO) to be detected early after acute myocardial infarction. Our aim was to evaluate the impact of PMO on subsequent ventricular remodeling in a cohort of patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) who underwent intracoronary autologous b...

Scar formation after ischemic myocardial injury in MRL mice.

INTRODUCTION MRL is a strain of mice with the unusual ability to recover from injuries without forming scar tissue. It was recently reported that the MRL mice can recover with little or no scar formation following a cryogenically induced myocardial infarction of the right ventricle. These findings suggest that scarless recovery from myocardial injury is possible in mammalian ventricles. If appl...

Infarct tissue heterogeneity assessed with contrast-enhanced MRI predicts spontaneous ventricular arrhythmia in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.

BACKGROUND The relation between infarct tissue heterogeneity on contrast-enhanced MRI and the occurrence of spontaneous ventricular arrhythmia (or sudden cardiac death) is unknown. Therefore, the study purpose was to evaluate the predictive value of infarct tissue heterogeneity assessed with contrast-enhanced MRI on the occurrence of spontaneous ventricular arrhythmia with subsequent implantabl...
